□ | Unverified Zones - An Overview of this Unverified Zones feature: |
• | This Unverified Zones feature only accesses those Signal ID and/or Physical Zone combinations defined within the CSID Zones Form with a Check in the Zone Test? box because: |
c. | A Signal Identifier may be defined in the CSID Zones Form to change the default processing rules established for that Signal Identifier in the Panel Zones Form. |
d. | The Signal Identifier(s) and/or Physical Zones entered in the CSID Zones Form with a Check in the Zone Test? box indicates which Signal Identifier(s) and/or Physical Zones are to be managed using this Unverified Zones process. |
e. | By default, those CSID Zones with a Check in the Zone Test? box have an internal Test Status field - maintained by the system - which is initially set to "Null" meaning that No Test is expected. |
f. | When a CSID Zone with a Check in the Zone Test? box is Placed On Test, that internal Test Status field is set to "W" indicating it is Waiting for a Test Signal. |
g. | When the appropriate Signal is received, the internal Test Status field is set to "T" (for Tested) indicating it has received the anticipated Signal. |
h. | When the Testing Process is completed, the Operator may use the Zone Test Verification Report to reset all Test Status fields to "Null" meaning that No More Test Signals are expected. |
i. | If a Signal Identifier and/or Physical Zone is not defined in the CSID Zones Form, or does not have a Check in the Zone Test? box, it will not be available for this Unverified Zones feature. |
□ | Using the Unverified Zones feature: |
• | The Unverified Zones dialog is a maintenance Form which may be used to cancel all Test Status codes for a selected CSID, or to selectively remove specific CSID Zones from the list of those Waiting ("W") for a Test. |
• | When a Technician or a Subscriber requests that an Operator Place an Account on Test, internally the system sets the Test Status field to Waiting ("W") for all CSID Zones (or for a specifically identified Signal ID and/or Physical Zone) defined for the selected CSID(s) as long as each has a Check in the Zone Test? box on the CSID Zones Form. |
• | This Waiting ("W") status indicates that the system is Waiting to receive signal(s) from those CSID Zone(s) or selected Signal ID and/or Physical Zone while a Technician (or Subscriber) is testing an Alarm System. |
• | While in the Waiting Test Status, when the Signal ID and/or Physical Zone (specifically identified within the CSID Zones Form with a Check in the Zone Test? box) is tested, that Test Status code is changed from Waiting ("W") to Tested ("T"). |
• | The Unverified Zones Form is accessible in five places within MKMS and MKMSCS: |
1. | From the MKMS Maintenance Menu's Central Station selection by Choosing Unverified Zones where this maintenance may be performed on any CSID defined for any Subscriber. |
▪ | For those Subscribers with multiple CSIDs defined, the User may view the appropriate Unverified Zones as follows: |
▪ | Then, Click the Unverified Zones button. |
▪ | Only the Unverified Zones for the Selected CSID will be displayed. |
▪ | For those Subscribers with multiple CSIDs defined, the User may view the appropriate Unverified Zones as follows: |
▪ | First, Select the appropriate CSID from those listed. |
▪ | Then, Click the Unverified Zones button. |
▪ | Only the Unverified Zones for the Selected CSID will be displayed. |
5. | From the Signal Processing screen within MKMSCS by Clicking the Unverified Zones button |
▪ | As shown in the screen illustration immediately below, the Unverified Zone Icon is located immediately below the Google® Icon. |

▪ | When accessed from within the Signal Processing screen, Unverified Zone maintenance may only be performed on the CSID reporting the currently displayed Alarm Signal. |
• | This report may list the Test Status of those Signal Identifier(s) and/or Physical Zone(s) that were Placed On Test for: |
□ | The Unverified Zones dialog is used to view and/or (re-)set the Test Status of one or more CSID Zones for an Account (Subscriber Panel CSID) that has been Placed On Test - usually as result of a request from a Technician working on that system at the Subscriber's premises, or by the Subscriber making that request themselves. |
• | When an Account's entire set of CSID Zones are placed on Test, all of the CSID Zones defined for that Account are then considered Unverified Zones, and so the Test Status of every Zone is set to Waiting ("W"). |
• | Using this Unverified Zones dialog, specific Signal Identifiers and/or Physical Zones combinations may be removed from the Waiting ("W") Test Status list. |
□ | To access the Unverified Zones dialog that may access any Subscriber's data (this Unverified Zones Form is also accessible in four other places within MKMS and MKMSCS as noted above): |
• | From the Main Menu Select Maintenance |
• | Choose Central Station, then Click the Unverified Zones option. |
Unverified Zones dialog
• | Select CSID - To view, and optionally to change, the Test Status of Signal Identifiers and Physical Zones which have previously been Placed On Test: |
• | Click the Ellipse button (see the mouse pointer in the illustration above). |
• | CSID Search - This will open the CSID Search dialog where you may Choose the appropriate CSID. |
CSID Search dialog
• | Search By - Using the Drop-Down Selection List provided, Choose the desired field on which to search (either CSID or Name). |
• | Search Value - Based on the Search By field selected, enter the desired CSID or Name. |
▪ | When the desired CSID is located, Click on that CSID. |
• | Click the OK button to insert the selected CSID into the Select CSID field. |
• | Unverified Zones List - When the CSID is selected, those Zones that have been Placed On Test will be displayed in the Unverified Zones list. |
• | This Unverified Zones Form is used to identify which of those Zones are not expected (do not need) to transmit a Test Signal during the current Testing Process, and to remove those from the list. |
▪ | To do so, remove the Check mark from each record in the Unverified Zones List which should have its Test Status set to Null (meaning that each should not be "Waiting" for a Test Signal). |
▪ | This capability is provided so that the User may eliminate those CSID Zones which are not required to be Tested (i.e., they do not need to be placed into a Waiting - "W" - Test Status) and therefore make monitoring of this list folr those that do need to be Tested, to be easier. |

• | UnCheck All - To remove all of the Checks in the Waiting column, Check this box. |
• | Post - Click the Post button to apply these changes. |
• | This report may list the Test Status of those Signal Identifier(s) and/or Physical Zone(s) that were Placed On Test for: |
• | Once the correct list of Signal Identifier(s) and/or Physical Zone(s) and their associated Test Status has been set using the Unverified Zones Form, and subsequently as certain Signal Identifier(s) and/or Physical Zone(s) are successfully Tested, the Zone Test Verification Report will show those that are still Waiting for a Signal, and those that have successfully been Tested. |

Reset Accounts?
• | If the designated Signal Identifier(s) and/or Physical Zone(s) for all CSID Zones, whether or not successfully Tested, are to have their Test Status reset to Null, Answer Yes, otherwise answer No. |
▪ | Answering Yes would indicate that no more Test Signals are expected from these Account(s) during this On Test session, so all Waiting Accounts should be removed from the report by resetting their Test Status to Null. |
▪ | Answering No, Closes the report with no data changes thereby preserving the Waiting Accounts list for future reference. |
◆ | If there are any Accounts with a Test Status of Waiting ("W") remaining when the On Test process is completed, a SPA generated Signal ID of A139 will be received indicating the number of Unverified Zones that remain in a Waiting ("W") Test Status. |
▪ | Signal ID = A139 Alarm Code = System Messages OCTAR = Alarm Description = Number of Unverified Zones |
