The Two Sections Form Style provides: 1.) a Navigation Menu, 2.) a Record Listing section at the top (immediately below the Navigation Menu) and 3.) a Record Editing section at the bottom where new records may be added, and existing records edited and/or deleted.
Note: Some Forms using this Navigation Menu have additional options, each of which will be explained in those specific chapters.

Typical Navigator Menu on a Two Section Form

 

Use the Menu/Icon options on the Navigation Menu to Move from record to record, Add a new record, Edit an existing record, Delete a record, and optionally to Print a record list and/or Search for a record.
Many of these Menu/Icon options will be inactive until needed (e.g., Cancel, Save), as specified below.

HelpFilesNavigatorMenuFirstClick the First Menu/Icon to move the record pointer 4 in the Record Listing section to the first record (alphabetically or numerically) based on the column (usually the first column) that is determining the Listing Order of the records.

This option will not be available if the record pointer u in the Record Listing section is already pointing to the First record, or the New Menu/Icon option has been selected.

HelpFilesNavigationMenuPriorClick the Prior Menu/Icon to move the record pointer 4 in the Record Listing section to the record immediately before the currently displayed record (alphabetically or numerically) based on the column (usually the first column) that is determining the Listing Order of the records.

This option will not be available if the record pointer u in the Record Listing section is pointing to the First record, or the New Menu/Icon option has been selected.

HelpFilesNavigationMenuNextClick the Next Menu/Icon to move the record pointer 4 in the Record Listing section to the record immediately after the currently displayed record (alphabetically or numerically) based on the column (usually the first column) that is determining the Listing Order of the records.

This option will not be available if the record pointer u in the Record Listing section is pointing to the Last record, or the New Menu/Icon option has been selected.

HelpFilesNavigationMenuLastClick the Last Menu/Icon to move the record pointer 4 in the Record Listing section to the last record (alphabetically or numerically) based on the column (usually the first column) that is determining the Listing Order of the records.

This option will not be available if the record pointer 4 in the Record Listing section is already pointing to the Last record, or the New Menu/Icon option has been selected.

HelpFilesNavigationMenuNewClick the New Menu/Icon to clear the fields in the Record Editing section in preparation for adding information to a new record.

This option will not be available if the Edit Menu/Icon option has been selected.

HelpFilesNavigationMenuEditClick the Edit Menu/Icon to modify to the record currently displayed in the Record Editing section.

This option will not be available if the New Menu/Icon option has been selected.

HelpFilesNavigationMenuDeleteClick the Delete Menu/Icon to remove to the record currently displayed in the Record Editing section.

This option will not be available if the New or the Edit Menu/Icon option has been selected.

HelpFilesNavigationMenuCancelClick the Cancel Menu/Icon to abandon any new or modified entry displayed in the Record Editing section.

This option is only available when the New or the Edit Menu/Icon option has been selected.

HelpFilesNavigationMenuSaveClick the Save Menu/Icon to record any modifications (or a new record entry) displayed in the Record Editing section.

This option is only available when the New or the Edit Menu/Icon option has been selected.

 

HelpFilesNavigationMenuPrintIconClick the Print Icon to View, and optionally Print a report which lists the data shown in the tabular (spreadsheet style) Record Listing section of the currently displayed Form.

 

HelpFilesNavigationMenuSearchClick the Search Icon to open the Search dialog which is used to Locate and Select a specific record that is contained within the currently displayed table.
